Taking education to the next level – with Sports Psychology Training

Untitled Document

General Information

Sports psychology has developed sensationally in recent years. Under the leadership of the German Association for Sport Psychology (asp) and the most important partner organizations for the field of sports psychology (including the Federal Institute for Sports Science (BISp) and the Central Coordination Office (DOSB/zks)), a modern advanced and further education structure for the field of sports psychology was developed.
Dr. Christopher Willis and his institute "Center of Mental Excellence" were commissioned with the management of the modular training concept. In coordination with the training advisory board of the asp, the module series "Sports Psychological Training and Coaching in Competitive Sports" is offered.

The Center of Mental Excellence is certified according to DIN ISO 29990 : 2010 (TÜV Süd) for the development and implementation of learning services as well as consulting in the areas of high-performance coaching, leadership training, and sports psychology.

The contents are explained on the following pages.

about

The module series "Sports Psychological Training and Coaching in Competitive Sports" is intended for colleagues who currently have little or no experience in sports psychological counseling and support in competitive sports. The module series is also aimed at experienced colleagues who have a psychotherapeutic/sports psychiatric background and/or a coaching qualification, and who wish to expand their personal counseling and action competence within the field of sports psychological training and coaching through this module series.

Through the close cooperation of the course management with the training advisory board of the asp and the resulting coordination with the respective professional associations in Germany (asp, BDP), Switzerland (SASP), and Austria (ÖBS, BÖP), it is possible to offer a technically high-quality advanced training series. Further information can also be found on the homepage of the German Association for Sport Psychology (www.asp-sportpsychologie.org) and BISP Sports Psychology (www.bisp-sportpsychologie.de).

The response to the module series offered so far has been extremely gratifying in recent years. The individual speakers are always thrilled by the high standard of the training group. The mix of participants—comprising experienced coaches, psychologists, sports scientists, sports managers, and individuals who may not match the usual admission profile but were accepted due to their unique life biographies—represents a wonderful strength of our course every year. Furthermore, our past participants from Germany, England, Italy, Croatia, Luxembourg, Norway, Austria, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and Hungary (...it's fantastic which countries we've had participants from - we are thrilled ourselves by this development) have consistently completed the module series with highly satisfactory practical projects.

The core element of the training course is the practical phase spanning several months. Under regular supervision by the training institute using a multi-center supervision approach, participants are given the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during the course in a practical setting. We place particular emphasis on the individual support of our participants.

Our graduates have worked for clients including: BISP and ZKS projects, Olympic training centers, national athletes from Olympic and selection teams. Athletes in Germany, England, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Turkey, football clubs such as Werder Bremen, Fortuna Düsseldorf, 1. FC Köln, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, TSG Hoffenheim, Hannover 96, Red Bull Salzburg, Red Bull Leipzig, Rapid Wien, Austria Wien, Sturm Graz, FC Wacker Innsbruck, FC St. Gallen, 1860 München. In a wide variety of sports (such as ice hockey, handball, basketball, etc.) as well as for numerous youth teams and regional sports clubs. Our graduates (psychologists and sports scientists) meet the criteria for inclusion in the respective national qualification lists (such as BISP, ÖBS, etc.).

This is a wonderful validation for our training team, which consistently consists of renowned and experienced sports psychological experts from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and England. Further information, dates, contact details, as well as statements from our participants can be found on this website.
